FIBA eOlympics start on Friday, 26th July

The best ranked 30 players in 1v1 on NBA2K24 have been invited for the 30 team FIBA eOlympics.

As some want to take a short summer break, the next best in the rankings filled up.

Gamers from all over the world, mostly Europe represent their countries or others who were free and have no representative gamer.

TOURNAMENT STARTS JULY, 26TH

All matches can be watched live and on demand.

The nations and gamers can play test/friendly games from Friday, 19th till midday Friday, 26th 12h CET.

THE FORMAT AND TEAMS

  • 30 Teams

  • all reallife Paris 2024 Olympic teams + all OQT Semifinalists + additional teams (Bulgaria, Argentina, Turkey etc.)

  • Group Stage of 5 teams per group, 4 group stage games each, 4x8 mins, 6 Groups overall

WHO ADVANCES TO KNOCKOUT STAGES? WHO WILL MEET WHO IN KNOCKOUT STAGE?

Every game, win and point matters.

Not only for the rankings, as even attending games gives a gamer 1 pt for the rankings, every win 2pts and every round advanced gives a bonus of extra 2pts each.

But why does every single point matter?

Well, all the Group winners will be seeded 1-6 after the Group stages, as they will be compared as per wins and overall pt differentials.

All Group runner-ups will be seeded 7-12 respectively, as they will also be compared by wins and pt differentials.

Finally, the best four Group' Thirds will also advance to the Eightfinals, as all Thirds will be also compared by wins and then pt differentials. They will have seeds 13-16 and the two worst Group' thirds will be eliminated in the Group stage, same as all Fourth and Fifth Placed in each group.

1st seed will meet 16th seed, 2nd will meet 15 etc.

There is a constellation possible of meeting a group stage opponent again.

All knockout games will be a single-elimination game.

LAST MINUTE TEAM/GAMER CHANGES

There are no changes of countries/nations participating, but as San Marino's best gamer, Fiorenzo Marani, who had tryouts at the Minnesota T-Wolves eSports team, will take a break from Gaming this summer, gamers changed teams as per following:

  • Fiorenzo Marani (was planned to control France) will take a summer break and not compete

  • Kai Schallenberg (previously Germany) will represent France

  • Jonas Koitka (previously Puerto Rico) will represent Germany

  • Augustas Ivoska (called-up per wildcard) will represent Puerto Rico

Having these changes in mind, here is the pre-changes list of Gamers, but Groups stay the same:
