The Cyber Euroleague has issued an official decision regarding the conduct of Dejan Raicevic, the gamer controlling Budućnost in the Cyber Eurocup, the second-highest tier in European NBA 2K MyLeague online competition. Raicevic is also known as a Montenegrin 2K national team player.

Background of the Incident

The case originated after administrative decisions were made within the Cyber Eurocup by league official Kai Schallenberg. Raicevic reacted negatively to these changes and made public accusations followed by insulting language directed at Schallenberg, breaching the league’s code of conduct.

While the Cyber Euroleague is a virtual esports competition, it maintains standards of sportsmanship similar to those in professional sports. The Cyber Euroleague Rulesbook outlines specific penalties for various types of misconduct and also took of the real-life Euroleague regulations, including the following: " According to the EuroLeague Bylaws, particularly Article 24, serious infringements include disloyal or unsportsmanlike conduct not listed under previous provisions.  Such actions are subject to disciplinary measures to maintain the integrity and professionalism of the league."


These internal regulations reflect the league’s efforts to ensure fair play, integrity, and a respectful competitive environment.


Understanding the Dejan Raicevic Cyber Euroleague Decision

Following a disciplinary review, the Cyber Euroleague has ruled as follows:

  • Four-Game Suspension for Server Exit: Raicevic left the league server mid-season and rejoined. In accordance with rules, this results in a 4-game suspension for the team’s best rated player.

  • Three-Game Suspension: For the use of insulting language toward a league official, the second best rated player on Budućnost will serve a 3-game suspension.

  • Formal Warning Issued: Raicevic has been formally warned that any further misconduct may result in exclusion from the league.

  • Forfeited Match: Raicevic forfeited his final regular season game against Marko Božić (Hapoel Jerusalem), which results in 1 game suspension ot the third best player

  • Euroleague ticket: Raicevic, can move up to the Euroleague only if he reaches the top 3 spots, and would loose the Qualifiers right, if he reaches the 4th spot. Also if an extra spot in Euroleague is to be filled, Dejan would not get the invitational to a wild card tournament.

  • For the next season, Dejan Raicevic will not receive any %bonus to get a lottery team pick boost (that can be earned via eurobasket)

  • Kai Schallenberg receives +1 badge and +1 attribute boost compensation rewards immediately and a host bonus in a possible matchup vs Dejan Raicevic in the current season.
