Tenerife Defeats JL Bourg in Virtual EuroCup Playoff
In a commanding performance in which Tenerife defeats JL Bourg, Tenerife, controlled by Mantas Tamosauskas, secured a decisive victory over the team managed by Florian Albat, with a final score of 97-48. This win advances Tenerife to the Virtual EuroCup Quarterfinals, where they will face Unicaja Malaga, led by Viktor Vladov.
Dominant Second Half by Tenerife
Despite a challenging first half, where the game remained closely contested, Tenerife made strategic adjustments that led to a dominant second half. Mantas Tamosauskas explained, "First half was very tough, our plan did not work, and everything was on Shermadini. After the first half, we changed our plan, and it worked. Kyle Guy was the key, almost all plays worked on Kyle to get his open 3-point shots. After making his first few shots, he couldn’t be stopped and finished with 35+ points, making 10 three-pointers. That was the key to our victory by a huge lead."
JL Bourg’s Struggles in the Second Half
Florian Albat’s team started strong, getting the shots they wanted and keeping the game competitive in the first half. However, the second half saw Tenerife's defense tighten and their offense excel, particularly from long-range shots. "In the second half, I couldn't stop the repeating long screens from one wing to the other and Tenerife made almost every 3-point shot, even 'yellows' with defense. On the other hand, I missed some shots that should've gone in. The blowout then came from frustration," said Albat.
