In a highly anticipated Top 16 playoff clash of the Cyber EuroCup on NBA2k25, it was the German newcomer Jannick Hüttenberger who left a scorching mark, guiding Ratiopharm Ulm to a commanding 84-59 win over Hapoel Jerusalem — and sealing the series 2-0 after his Serbian opponent, Marko Bozic, threw in the towel and forfeited Game 2.
This matchup, filled with pre-season expectations and painful echoes of past disappointments, turned into a one-sided basketball clinic that highlighted Hüttenberger’s game mastery and Bozic’s continued struggles in the cyber arena.
Hüttenberger Dominates, Bozic Crumbles Under Pressure in Cyber EuroCup
From the opening tip, Jannick Hüttenberger had his team locked in. Ratiopharm Ulm took an early 19-12 lead in the first quarter, setting the tone for what would become a decisive performance across all four quarters. Ulm extended their dominance with 21 points in both the second and fourth quarters, while Jerusalem managed just 16 and a dismal 9 in those respective periods.
While Ulm didn’t explode offensively in any single stretch, their efficiency and consistency turned the match into a slow suffocation of Hapoel Jerusalem’s hopes. Hüttenberger’s squad simply outclassed Bozic’s team across the stat sheet.
Ratiopharm Ulm shot 52% from the field compared to Jerusalem’s 39%, and most strikingly — buried 11 of their 26 three-point attempts, a scorching 42% from beyond the arc. Hapoel, in contrast, clanked their way to a miserable 3-for-21 (14%). That shooting gap alone dictated much of the game’s outcome.
Star Performances from a Rising Cyber Name
Nate Hinton was a man on fire for Hüttenberger’s Ulm, racking up 22 points on 7-for-11 shooting, drilling five threes, and adding four rebounds. Behind him, B. Saraf added 12 points and played as a calm orchestrator of the offense with three assists and zero turnovers. In fact, Ulm as a team had only 11 turnovers, while Jerusalem coughed up the ball 12 times despite possessing it slightly longer.
Bench production also tilted Ulm’s way: 40 points off the bench for the Germans, compared to 30 for Bozic’s side. The German squad's depth overwhelmed the shaky foundation of Jerusalem.
Marko Bozic’s Slide Continues
For Marko Bozic, this loss adds to a growing list of disappointments. After leaving ASVEL last season with an 0- record due to personal reasons, expectations were sky-high for his Cyber EuroCup comeback. However, he ended the regular season only 12th and was knocked out immediately in the Top 16, well below his own words: "I will be back in the Euroleague very soon", Bozic once stated before the start of the current season.
“I have to say congratulations to my opponent and good luck on his road to the Eurocup title. I will forfeit game 2 and the series is his, but I will be back, ready and focused for the next Eurocup season, which is in NBA2k26.” – Marko Bozic
That forfeit decision eliminated any hope of redemption within the current series, leaving fans and league officials with a bittersweet aftertaste to what was supposed to be a close battle.
Germany vs Germany Awaits: Ulm Faces Bonn in Quarterfinal
For Jannick Hüttenberger, the road continues with a spicy all-German showdown against fourth-seed Kai Schallenberg and Telekom Baskets Bonn in the Cyber EuroCup quarterfinals. Schallenberg, who recently signed a real-life pro coaching contract with Pro A side Koblenz, has been a tactical mastermind this season and defeated Ulm in the regular season matchup.
But Hüttenberger now has serious momentum. His gameplan is working. His depth is dangerous. And his rookie season is turning into a Cinderella run in the making.
