Jerusalem Take Full Control from the Start

There was no suspense inside Jerusalem’s virtual arena. In a Cyber EuroCup First Round Playoff elimination game, Hapoel Jerusalem imposed their authority from the opening possessions and never looked back, dismantling Niners Chemnitz 106–65 in one of the most one-sided contests of the round.

The Israeli side came out with clear intent—push the tempo, stretch the floor, and punish every defensive lapse. Chemnitz, representing Bulgaria’s last remaining hope through elite gamer Plamen Stoynev, simply could not match the pace or execution.

By the end of the first half, the game had already tilted beyond recovery.

Zumstein Orchestrates a Statement Performance

If the result was emphatic, the performance of Travis Zumstein was even more telling.

The USA 2K national team prospect controlled every phase of the game, blending composure with aggression. Whether initiating fast breaks, reading defensive rotations, or creating clean looks from beyond the arc, Zumstein dictated the rhythm throughout.

His command over the offense allowed Jerusalem to flow effortlessly, finishing possessions with high efficiency and minimal mistakes.

“We stepped away from the gas pedal pretty early, as we knew pretty early and realistically that we won the game and advance to next round,” Zumstein said post-game.

Even with that early slowdown, the gap only widened.

The statistical breakdown underlines just how complete Jerusalem’s performance was:

  • Points: 106–65

  • Field Goals: 47% vs 27%

  • Three-Pointers: 47% vs 27%

  • Assists: 33–13

  • Steals: 22–7

  • Fast Break Points: 28–4

Jerusalem’s defensive pressure generated turnovers that translated into easy transition baskets, while their perimeter shooting stretched Chemnitz beyond its limits.

The gap in ball movement—reflected in the assist count—highlighted a team playing in sync versus one constantly reacting.

Bulgarian Resistance Falls Short

Chemnitz entered the matchup with strong credentials. Under Plamen Stoynev, a two-time ESB LAN Cup finalist in Bulgaria, the team carried both experience and ambition.

The Bulgarian connection—linking gamer Stoynev with virtual standout Yordan Minchev—offered moments of promise, particularly in isolated scoring attempts. However, against Jerusalem’s structured defense and relentless pace, those flashes never developed into sustained momentum.

Turnovers and defensive breakdowns proved costly, and once Jerusalem built a double-digit lead, there was no way back.

Game Flow: Decided Before the Final Quarter

Jerusalem’s approach was simple but devastatingly effective:

  • Push tempo early

  • Attack in transition

  • Space the floor with consistent three-point shooting

By the third quarter, the contest had already turned into a formality. Jerusalem even eased their intensity late on, conserving energy while maintaining a comfortable margin.

Chemnitz, meanwhile, struggled to generate quality looks and found themselves chasing the game from start to finish.

Quarterfinal Clash Awaits: Trento on the Road

With this dominant victory, Hapoel Jerusalem advance to the Cyber EuroCup Quarterfinals, where a much tougher challenge awaits.

They will face Trento in another do-or-die matchup—this time away from home. Trento are led by Mina Mladenovic, widely regarded as the most successful woman in Europe’s 2K Online League.

The clash promises a completely different dynamic: Jerusalem’s high-tempo execution against Trento’s disciplined and proven leadership.
