Joventut 85-77 Paris

Paris 63-78 Joventut

Joventut and Jonas Koitka, not only both start with a J, but the chemistry is perfect so far same as the owning record in EuroCup Group A (6-0)

1st Game:

A very competitive game between Joventut and Paris. The first half was the one of Paris. Having the lead almost for the whole half. The lead was mostly around 4-6 points but rarely higher or lower. With early Foul-Trouble for TJ Shorts Joventut was able to keep the reigning BCL MVP out of the game. The 2nd half started just like the first ended Paris had the lead but wasn't able to close the game. The 4th quarter started with Paris looking very strong and building the lead to 10 with 6 minutes left in the game. But then Joventut came back and was able to even the score with one minute left. While fighting for the rebound TJ Shorts made his 6th Foul putting him out of the game. Feliz was able to make the two free throws and put Joventut up by two with 38.8 secs left. It was now Paris' turn to try to even the score but Nadir Hifi went out of bounds with 18.7 secs left. Of course Paris fouled Feliz and he made both free throws. Paris then tried to make a Comeback themselves but Herrera missed the 3. Tomic was able to grab the rebound and was fouled immediatly. He made the free throws aswell and put Joventut up by 6. Paris tried to get the ball to Herrera with their in bound pass but it was stolen by Andrew Andrews who finished the fastbreak with a dunk to win this amazing game with 85:77

2nd Game:

The game started with a frustrated TJ Shorts after being blocked three times in the first 4 minutes of the game. The fist quarter was equal to the first game being very close with an even score with 2:30 left. Then things changed for Joventut when their bench squad came on with a tough jumper by Ribas and an Alley-Oop from Chery to Brodzianski giving Joventut a 4 point lead. The quarter ended with an and-one dunk by Chinanu Onuaku giving Joventut an 8 point lead. The second quarter was very even and spectacular with an amazing block by Thomas ended with a 12 point lead for Joventut. Paris wasn't able to start the second half very well with Joventut building the lead to 18 points with 3:12 left. The lead stayed the same in the 3rd and was filled with highlights by Brodzianski. +18 for Joventut after three quarters. The last quarter started with an offensive rebound and a slam by Onuaku to make it a 20 point lead for Joventut. Paris wasn't able to come back in any way so Joventut puts up a start to finish victory (78:63) to stay unbeaten and on top of Group A.

Jonas Koitka, Joventut:

"I am very proud of my team because they showed what we want to show. Even though we were behind by 10 our guys were able to comeback and bring home the victory. We had some problems with our 3s and our transition play but thats ok. Happy to get the wins but still work ahead. Also very positive showings from our bench guys showing that they can get the job done as well. They were the ones giving us that 2nd win. Now looking forward and preparing for our next games against Karsiyaka."

Liaqat Ali, Paris:

"I do not like and appreciate their playstyle. They just play basic and simple pick and roll almost all of the time. But I won't argue. Congrats to Joventut."
